Camera Straps
If you have ever taken the time to do a search for camera straps you will find that the sheer number of straps available today is mind-boggling. Created for convenience and camera security, camera straps come in many different styles to suite individual tastes. To choose the one that is best for you, you should explore the many options available to you. The most popular kind of camera strap is the neck strap. This is mostly because they are the most comfortable way to carry around your camera. Be sure however, that you invest in one that has a soft padding, otherwise, it really doesn’t do much in the way of comfort. They come in all price ranges, but I say if you are going to invest in a neck strap, or any strap for that matter, that it is worth investing in a well made camera strap, not a cheap version. Putting a little extra money into a quality camera strap is a much cheaper alternative to buying a new camera.
Aside from the neck strap, many people prefer the wrist strap. You can get them in multitudes of styles and colors. However, be careful. There are many cheap, flimsy camera straps out there, especially when it comes to wrist straps. The best one I have found is the ProStrap. In fact the prostrap is becoming the leading strap of choice among professional photographers. The Prostrap comes in many styles from the New York to the Belt Style. They are made of leather, very secure and comfortable and fit tight enough around the wrist to prevent accidental drops. Even more astonishing is they only cost between $9.99-$14.99. If you are going to invest in a wrist style camera strap, I recommend ProStrap all the way.
If you decide that a camera strap is not for you, you may find it worthwhile to invest in a vest or backpack. Professionals are known to make good use of a backpack, as it is one of the most comfortable methods of carrying around your camera and accessories. One drawback is that they can be quite costly, and the same goes for the vest option.
